Tara Brown joins the Digital Media and Learning Research Hub with more than 15 years of experience leading the design, development and management of world-class software, services, and interactive media projects. Over the years, Tara has served as a technical entrepreneur, online interactive producer, technical product manager, and opinion writer for numerous institutions and companies including USC, UC Irvine, Shazam, Topspin, and Microsoft. She is the founder of the LA Makerspace, a kid friendly hackerspace in Los Angeles, and also works with represent.la to help connect and promote the Los Angeles tech startup community. As Technology Director, she is responsible for leveraging new technologies to form robust online communities around the Hub’s research and initiatives.
