DML2014 Panelist Darlene Cavalier Advances Citizen Science Connections
The DML2014 Conference, “Connecting Practices,” will be held March 6-8, 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts. Click here for more information about registering.
“Connecting the silos of citizen science as a field is a very exciting thing to explore,” says Darlene Cavalier, founder of SciStarter.
Just how that can be done will be the topic of discussion when she speaks at the Digital Media and Learning Conference on the “Connecting the silos of citizen science” panel, taking place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. March 8.
Her panel will explore a unique MOOC created collaboratively by five citizen science communities seeking to connect their practices and make open research more accessible to newcomers. Cavalier was interviewed because her work embodies the DML2014 Conference theme and her panel provides a strong example of the kind of projects and programs you’ll be introduced to at the DML Conference.
The Digital Media and Learning Conference is supported by the MacArthur Foundation and organized by the Digital Media and Learning Research Hub, located at the University of California’s systemwide Humanities Research Institute at UC Irvine.
