Why Cathy Davidson is excited about DML2014

The DML2014 Conference, “Connecting Practices,” will be held March 6-8, 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts. Click here for more information about registering.

“There’s an excitement and an interest about what happens when you let students take the lead,” says Cathy N. Davidson, who recently taught a graduate class where the students decided to write a book on their peer-learning experience.

Davidson is the co-founding director of the Humanities, Arts, Technology, and Science Alliance and Collaboratory, co-director of the Digital Media and Learning Competitions and co-director of the Ph.D. Lab in Digital Knowledge at Duke University. She was interviewed because her work embodies the Conference theme and her DML2014 panel provides a strong example of the kind of projects and programs you’ll be introduced to at the Conference. (“Theories, Methods and Practices for Open Peer Teaching and Learning” will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 6)

The Digital Media and Learning Conference is supported by the MacArthur Foundation and organized by the Digital Media and Learning Research Hub, located at the University of California’s systemwide Humanities Research Institute at UC Irvine.
